- Strength Training for Older Adults
To boost the odds of staying independent in your golden years, add strength training to your exercise routine. According to the Centers for Disease Control, seniors who perform strength-training exercises are healthier, suffer fewer falls and bone fractures and live more independent lives. Yet only 11 percent of Americans older than age 65 do these types of exercises for the recommended two or more times per week.
